ACT阅读比较句有几种结构?

ACT阅读句子读不懂,要么是词汇不认识,要么是看不懂语法结构,你属于哪一种?ACT阅读词汇要长期积累,而语法结构在于理解。今天星马小编就通过四个典型的例句来给大家介绍ACT阅读中常考的比较句失,希望能够对大家有所帮助。
首先来看个例句:
There is no reason Lily can limit how much vitamin you take, any more than Lily can limit how much water you drink.
所谓比较句,是由连接词more than,或as ……as 等构成的比较状语从句。
比较结构1
✍︎标志词:
as many …as …(…和…一样多)
✎真题例句:
But the effort to explain what was in Jefferson’s head has spawned almost as manyinterpretations as the words themselves have generated political movements.�
✦难点:
我们通常看到的句型是 N1 is as many as N2。 但是在这个句子里,第一个as后面跟的是名词interpretation, 第二个as后面跟的是一个句子“the words themselves have generated political movements”。在整句话中,比较双方是 interpretations和 political movements。
☞翻译:
对于Jefferson脑子里的想法产生了很多种解释。这些解释和Jefferson所写的文字所产生的政治运动一样多。

not so much A as B(与其说是A,不如说是B)
✎真题例句:
String theory, which nowadays dominates the research programs and main funding of theoretical physics in many western universities, was not so much discovered as invented in order to solve a vexing explanatory deficit.(2013.4 71G)
✦难点:
A和B是两个被比较的平行结构。比如都是介词短语,动词不定式,名词短语或者其他平行结构
☞翻译:
弦理论与其说是被发现的,还不如说是被发明的理论,目的是为了解决一个让人烦恼的问题。

… as much as …(正如同…,…也…)
✎真题例句:

✦难点:
在这里,不能翻译成 “和……一样多” 。这个句型通常反应的是两个事物程度的比较。
☞翻译:
Bloomsbury推行的的反对维多利亚风格的反抗和年轻人的叛逆有关,同样也和Fry对艺术优良传统的认知有关。

no more … than 变体形式是 not … any more than
正如(that从句)不能…, 所以 (主句)同样不能…

✦难点:
这个句型的难点在于,than后面的句子一般都是肯定句,但是翻译的的时候需要翻译成否定句。
☞翻译:
正如同爱情不能仅仅被理解为是单纯的生物化学反应。湿地范围也不能只通过地图和表格就确定。
回到文章开头的那句话:
There is no reason Lily can limit how much vitamin you take, any more than Lily can limit how much water you drink.
正如同Lily没有任何理由可以限制你喝多少水,她也没有理由限制你吃多少维生素。
